Joint conference on the Framework of Actions on Youth Employment Achievements and Challenges Ahead, 20 June 2017, Brussels, Belgium

Background

In June 2013, the European social partners adopted a framework of actions on youth employment. The member organisations of BusinessEurope, CEEP, UEAPME and ETUC agreed to promote this framework of actions at all appropriate levels and to draw up three annual progress reports on the national actions carried out on the four priorities identified, followed by a fourth final evaluation report.

Substantial information on social partners’ activities have been collected and formed part of the annual evaluation reports adopted in September 2014, 2015 and 2016. The aim of this conference is to prepare for the drafting of the final evaluation report of the 2013 Framework of Actions on Youth Employment in autumn 2017.

Conference objectives

  • Take stock of national developments, as well as encourage national social partners to exchange information on the activities held at national level;

  • Discuss the preliminary findings of the final evaluation report and highlight the main trends under the four priorities: Learning, Transition, Employment, Entrepreneurship;

  • Encourage national social partners to report on the about the follow-up activities at national level, especially in the countries where there has been a lack of reporting in the annual follow-up reports.
