As part of the Integrated Projects of the EU Social Dialogue, ETUC national member organisations are given the opportunity to submit application for:

a) Joint national seminars on EU Social Dialogue

b)Trade union only seminar on EU Social Dialogue

 

How to apply to for a Social Dialogue Seminar on Demand

a) Joint national seminars on EU Social Dialogue

National social partners willing to organise a joint event on a topic linked to EU Social Dialogue should:

  • Submit a joint request (either by letter or by email) to their respective organisations (see below)
  • Address a topic clearly linked to issues that are tackled in the EU SPs work programme or issues that are high in the EU social dialogue agenda (i.e. involvement of social partners in the economic governance, capacity building, follow-up of youth employment framework of actions, etc.);
  • Tackle the interconnection of national and European social dialogue;
  • Organise a seminar with genuine bipartite character, stimulating the interest of both employer / trade union representatives;
  • Focus on one particular country or cover a limited number of EU countries;
  • Incorporate a dissemination strategy so that the results can be publicised to a wider audience.

The joint seminar should be held over one day and the audience has to consist of a balanced mix of trade unionists and employers’ representatives (up to 30). The ETUC and/or BusinessEurope will cover the following costs: accommodation and subsistence (1 night and 2 meals), interpretation (in a language other than the national language, for foreign speakers), meeting room, interpretation booths, a limited budget for translation of documents and local transport costs.

 

How to proceed to submit a request for a joint national seminar?

If you want to organise a seminar you should express their willingness in writing to one of the two contacts or both.

 

b) Trade Unions’ national seminars on EU Social Dialogue

Similarly as for the joint national seminars, the trade union events are an opportunity for ETUC affiliates based in one of the 27 EU member states to organise a seminar on issues relating to the reinforcement of bipartite social dialogue. In the case of this activity requests do not have to be jointly submitted. The following topics could be addressed: the interconnection of national and European social dialogue; the participation to European social dialogue activities but also the implementation of European social dialogue instruments.

The seminar has to be held over one day and the audience targeted will consist of around 20 national trade union representatives. The ETUC will cover the following costs: accommodation and subsistence (1 night and 2 meals), interpretation (in a language other than the national language, for foreign speakers), meeting room, interpretation booths, a limited budget for translation of documents and local transport costs. 
  

How to proceed to submit a request for a trade union national seminar?

To benefit from this opportunity, the confederation(s) interested should fill the this form and send it to Lionel Fallon ([email protected]) and Cecilia Lazzaroni ([email protected]); who are also available to help answer further questions.

Please note that the opportunity to organise either a joint or a trade union only seminar on EU social dialogue must be formulated before April 2024 so that the event can be organised within the time period covered by the EU Commission financing. Seminars must take place before the December 2024 at the latest, the date of the end of the project.
